Veterans Day Audio Book Giveaway

This was a fun giveaway that brought a lot of visitors to the blog, though most of you decided not to comment!
::sigh:: But that’s all right. Since there were just six active participants, it was easy for me to give a code to all of them. The emails have already gone out to the address you used when you posted your comment. If you haven’t heard from me, check your spam folder. If you still can’t find the email, contact me at linda at mythicisland dot com (converted to regular email format of course) and I’ll re-send.

A big mahalo (thank you) to all participants, and to everyone who helped boost the signal!

Thank you to those who’ve served and who continue to serve our country this Veterans Day!

Because it’s Veterans Day, and because the audio-book edition of Going Dark has just been released TODAY, I thought I’d do an audio-book flash giveaway. Audible has provided me with download codes. So I’ll be giving away one code for each book in The Red Trilogy — and I want to have three different winners. So enter to win with a comment on this post, letting me know which book you’d like to win — either The Red, The Trials, or Going Dark — and if you’re willing to settle for your second or third choice.

My son-in-law, US Army veteran Edward White, will be selecting the winners. If you’ve got a veteran anecdote to share, he invites you to do so, but it’s not required to enter.

The Audible editions of books in The Red Trilogy are narrated by Kevin T. Collins, and they’re available worldwide where Audible books are sold. I haven’t been told there are any regional restrictions on the code, so do enter even if you’re outside of the United States. You do need to be registered at Audible/Amazon to redeem a code, but you do not need a paid membership plan.

Enter today! Winners will be announced tomorrow, November 12 (Hawaii time). Thanks for participating!

I’d love an Audible edition of Going Dark, Linda!

Thank you for your service, Edward!

  2. Bohdan Says:

It’s Veterans Day but it’s also National Independence Day in Poland. So double Thanks for this great giveaway : )

  3. Paul Duffau Says:

I would be tickled to get a copy of The Red. Alas, I have no stories to share.

  4. David Walters Says:

It would be awesome to receive an audio code for Going Dark! Thank you for your service, Edward. My wife’s brother was a Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan but was unfortunately KIA in 2010. His memory lives on through the non-profit ‘Support Our Soldiers’ which sends 50 care packages a month to men and women currently fighting for our freedom!

  5. Linda Says:

Condolences on the loss of your brother in law, David. You’ve chosen a wonderful way to remember him.

  6. Cathy Says:

When my son joined the Marine Corps, he gave me a bunch of his books to read. That’s how I first discovered your books. I can’t tell you any anecdotes in case my son is reading this, but I can tell you that he often mentioned (not happily) that I had more items with Marine Corps slogans on them than he had after five years serving. What can I say, I’m a proud mom, although I have since greatly reduced my USMC stash.

(David Walters, what a wonderful way to honor your brother-in-law’s memory.)

  7. Linda Says:

Thanks Cathy! My husband still wears his “Navy Dad” shirt, though our son’s been out for a while now. Thanks to your son for his service! And also for sharing those books with you. 🙂

  8. Katherine Says:

I’d love a copy of The Red.
My son is in the Navy Reserve, he’s done a tour in Afghanistan and a tour in Italy. His dad owns a zillion Navy tshirts and bumper stickers.

  9. Linda Says:

Thank you to your son for his service, Katherine! I don’t know if you ever visited the Navy-For-Moms website, but that was a great resource, especially during recruit training.

  10. Fred Kiesche Says:

The Red was a great read as an indie and I’m glad to see that the other two are out (all under the guiding hand of Joe Monti, a.k.a., Mr. Coffee of Princeton). Great stories (however you want to tag: cyberpunk, MilSF, thrillers, etc). Look forward to having Linda on our podcast someday! 😉

  11. Linda Says:

Thanks Fred! I look forward to it.
