Two Reviews and a Contest

Monday, September 25th, 2017

Before we leave September behind, I wanted to link to two online reviews of The Last Good Man.

Locus is a trade magazine focused on science fiction and fantasy and has been in print for decades. Issues include publishing news, interviews, and reviews. In the September issue — both print and online — Russell Letson reviews The Last Good Man:

Nagata has devised a thinking-reader’s future-military scenario, a highly qualified adventure in which every thrill comes with a realization of what it costs, what it says about the world that enables it, what it means to fight and kill and face death.

And at “Nerds of a Feather” (got to love that name), Joe Sherry has posted a mini-review, saying “Nagata’s near future military sci-fi is as good as it gets.” Read the mini-review here.

Sci-Fi Bridge, Round 3:

Thursday, April 20th, 2017

If you’ve been following this blog, you’ve heard me talk before about Sci-Fi Bridge.

To review, Sci-Fi Bridge is a writer-run organization dedicated to getting the word out on new releases and great book deals in the science fiction world. Getting the word out is a HUGE challenge in this crowded field, so I’m really happy to be part of this effort. Round 3 is MY round. It’s my chance to connect with new newsletter subscribers and it’s your chance to connect with new-to-you writers.

So I encourage you to visit the Bridge and enter to win a massive book giveaway. Just by entering, you get access to four free ebooks. One is an anthology of stories by writers participating in Sci-Fi Bridge including my own “Codename: Delphi.” And you’ll be able to opt-in to the Sci-Fi Bridge newsletter, and to author newsletters if you choose. You’ll also have a chance to win 30+ ebooks, or the Grand Prize of 30+ signed books. I’m contributing ebooks and a signed book (Tech-Heaven) during this round.

Follow this link for the official info.

The contest runs April 20 – 27. See you on the Bridge!

Sci-Fi Bridge

Tuesday, February 21st, 2017

“Write it and they will come” is a philosophy that works only rarely — very rarely. Writing a novel is only step one in creating a viable writing career. The really hard part is connecting with the potential audience for that book. So I’ve been working hard to expand my potential audience, and Sci-Fi Bridge is my newest strategy.

Sci-Fi Bridge is author-created. Read about the three founders here. It’s a massive book giveaway designed to encourage you to signup for the Sci-Fi Bridge email list. What do you get in return? Free ebooks in this first round, just for signing up, and a chance to win a haul of print and ebooks, plus you’ll start to receive a newsletter with information on science fiction authors and their upcoming publications — because if you don’t know we wrote it, how will you ever have the chance to read it?

Here’s the official description:

Sci-Fi Bridge is a brand new platform dedicated to bringing you the best in Sci-Fi books from around the world. In order to celebrate their launch, its Captains are excited to bring you the 1st of 4 massive book giveaways! There are FREE prizes available for all who enter between February 20-27, plus the chance for 5 winners to receive 20+ ebooks from Sci-Fi authors from every background. 1 lucky grand prize winner will also receive a package of 17 signed books, including full series by Jay Allan, Jamie Mcfarlane, Steve Konkoly, Myke Cole and more! Enter here: scifibridge.com

Do it! Sign up! Let’s make this happen.
