The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year Volume Seven

November 27th, 2012

At SF Signal, the table of contents has been posted for ‘The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year Volume Seven’ Edited by Jonathan Strahan, with my own “Nahiku West” at #22 in the list of stories! This is the first time my short fiction has made it into a best-of-year anthology, so I’m pretty happy about it.

The anthology will be published by Night Shade Books on March 5, 2013.

Congrats! I read about as many short stories as I read novels in a year. So 60+ this year and “Nahiku West” was definitely a favorite along with “In the Tide” from GODDESSES & OTHER STORIES and some Bradbury stories.

Off-topic: In your opinion, can I read the first Sandman Slim book as a standalone? I have a chance to pick it up but I am trying to finish all the other series I have started before starting another series.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

Regarding Sandman Slim — yes, the book is a complete story. There are things left unresolved, but it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger or anything like that. So you can wait to read the others. If you do read it, let me know how you like it. I had a lot of fun with these books.
