Goodreads Giveaway
July 15th, 2014…and speaking of War Stories (which I was speaking of in the last post) there is a Goodreads Giveaway in progress. Enter to win. Deadline to enter is August 1.
I have a story in this anthology — “Light and Shadow” — that takes place in the story world of The Red, although it’s not directly related to those books.

Oh well; bummer for me. As is very common, the giveaway is only open to people in the US.
( I cannot help but wonder why. International shipments aren’t difficult or prohibitively expensive. Not something you have any control of, of course; just venting. )
Do please remind us when the book comes out.

Sorry about that, Clyde! I usually remember to mention that if I’m doing my own giveaway, but this was a third party, so I wasn’t even thinking about it. International shipping is pretty expensive, by my standards. I usually send books by “Priority Mail.” Living in Hawaii, if I send them at any lesser level of service, they will take literal months to arrive at their destination, even within the USA. Using Priority Mail, $5.95 will get a book to any address within the US, but it costs $24.95 to send the same book to the UK. Ouch! Especially if multiple books have to be sent.

Wow, that IS expensive. How does Amazon do it? 😉

Linda,
Any update on the sequel to The Red? I thought you’d targeted a release date in May.
Eagerly looking forward to it.

Hi Mike — thanks for asking. In fact, there is a pretty exciting plan in the works for the release of the sequel, in an effort to make the most of the book’s market potential. The process is just taking longer to finalize than I’d anticipated, and I’m not free to talk about it until things are set up. But if you haven’t already, please do sign up for my newsletter. It doesn’t go out very often, but it’s a way to be notified when new work comes out. Thanks again!
