Mele Kalikimaka!

December 25th, 2019

Mele Kalikimaka means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian, and it’s also the title to a Christmas carol that begins:

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say

On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day…

Too bad today is gloomy! We’ve got heavy clouds with fog blowing through, along with a bit of rain. But at least Christmas Eve was bright and sunny. 🙂

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and wishing all of you a joyful day!

Xena Rose does not have the patience to pose for a Christmas photo, so this one will have to do. (Taken today, December 25, 2019)

Mele Kalikimaka back at you from one day ahead in Yokohama, Japan.

Xena Rose is way too cute. She seems very interested in that leaf. (I understand that color vision is limited in dogs, but I suppose that one stands out.)

I confess I was rustling the dry leaves on the ground to try to get her to look in the direction of the camera. That said, those red ti leaves make great tug-o-war toys. The stems are surprisingly tough.
